Psychotherapy

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Psychotherapy can help one gently address the most painful and dreadful parts of oneself, in a delicate, confidential and non-judgmental environment. As things unfold, suffering is gradually transformed into bearable thoughts and feelings.
Eventually, this new understanding of oneself enhances the ability to cope with the emotional pain and consequently increases the ability to control one's behaviour, and hence to change it, as the issues once paralyzing, are clear, meaningful, and finally subjected to one’s own volition.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Everyone. I believe that every person gets to a point in their life when they start feeling that something has been fundamentally wrong about themselves for quite a while. This awareness is very evasive or has been avoided for long, and a new or sudden sense of urgency is being aroused. At other times, the feeling of suffering could be so great and massive, that one feels trapped: incapable of living with it, and at the most could only restrain it for a while.
These difficulties, may seem outside of one’s control, as change couldn’t be easily brought about. However, psychotherapy, and particularly psychodynamic psychotherapy, as it is tuned to the unconscious together with the conscious parts of the person, can help one gently uncover these issues, generate a personal meaning out of them, and strive towards it.
Types of psychotherapy provided:

OPEN-ENDED PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY

A continuous exploratory process, aimed at getting a deep and meaningful understanding of oneself, through genuine experience in a safe, providing and creative environment. As meaning emerges, new possibilities open up, and new colours are brought into life.

SHORT-TERM PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY

A short and intense process, focused on a predefined area (e.g. a specific difficulty, an event, specific decision to make), up to 15 sessions.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
I charge £80 per session (50 mins), first session free, however there are some concession rates available.
